Austrian Trip – June 2017

Hotel Sonnenburg just outside the beautiful village of Ehrwald was our base for a wonderful week of hiking in the Austrian Alps. Ehrwald, surrounded by a landscape of beautiful mountains and picturesque alpine valleys, was the perfect destination for hillwalking and exploring the abundance of trails at our disposal. The purpose of the assessment is to provide an evidence base which can be used by planners to make informed decisions about the management of Northern Ireland’s landscapes. 26 regional landscape areas have been defined, including: Mourne and Slieve Croob; the Sperrins and the Antrim Plateau and Glens. Track Walking

The club are commencing a series of "track walks" starting on Sunday 4th January 2015. Initially these walks will be held on the first Sunday of each month with the usual meet up at LYIT car park, Ballyraine Road, Letterkenny at 9.00 am, for car pooling. These walks are classed as "easy" and will consist of group walking, on track, for about two hours at a leisurely pace.
